El Sol
El Sol restaurant is set in a magical environment that was aligned to the heavens based on sacred Maya geometry.
Featuring arched ceilings, colorful artwork and breathtaking views of the Caribbean sea, it brings to the table the two culinary world’s of Yucatan: Maya and Creole Cuisine. Maya Cuisine pre-dates the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadores, its authentic flavors, spices and techniques have been used for centuries throughout the Yucatan.
The region's Creole cuisine was influenced by the Spaniards during the 19th century when the areas sisal production drew wealthy Europeans or “Criollos” to the region, and with them, their architecture and cuisine. The Creole cuisine of the Yucatan is a fusion of European, Mayan, and French influences.
Maroma’s Chef Guillermo brings together these various styles and adds his own contemporary touch to create a sophisticated dining experience that is uniquely Maroma.
Beginning February 3rd, El Sol will be open for dinner Monday through Saturday from 7 - 10 pm (closed on Sunday). Last seating at 10 pm. Tables larger than 6 require a set menu for the entire table.
